We have placed some of the most experienced and effective interim leaders and managers working today, thanks to our expertise and experience.
Nick Diprose is an experienced provider of senior-level interim executives and interim managers throughout the UK and Europe.
Above all, he’s an enthusiastic advocate for interim management as the engine for spreading innovation, new thinking and best practice across industries.
In 2007 he was hired by Martin Wood, founder of pioneering interim firm BIE which had been spun out from PA Consulting. Mentored by the industry-leading team of Martin, Julia Candlish and Stuart Cain, Nick became widely known as an expert in the field of senior-level interim management. In 2008 Nick succeeded Martin as head of BIE, re-launching the brand and confirming its position as market leader, rated no.1 by the Institute of Interim Management (IIM) at the time.
Nick founded Holdsway in 2013 as a provider of experienced interim executives of all disciplines for clients facing all kinds of planned and unplanned change. Whilst many competitors now ‘silo’ themselves by function or sectors Holdsway was set up to build on the market-leading service levels of the original BIE model. Interviewed when he set the firm up in 2013 Nick said,
“Clients shouldn’t have to go to different providers just because change is happening in different parts of their business. You can’t predict which part of your business will change next. Many experienced interims will be able to manage change and transition regardless of where it is in the business – these are the real interim managers!”
“In the five years since Holdsway was founded, we’ve been making some noise in the interim management business! In 2016, we were voted one of the UK’s fastest-rising interim management firms. In 2018, Holdsway has been ranked the UK’s leading Gold Service provider of interims, based on quality of service*.”
A fluent French speaker with a BSc (Hons) in International Business and French from Aston University and Rouen Business School, Nick began his career with FTSE-100 steel-maker British Steel plc in commercial roles. For 20 years since then he has set-up, built and run successful executive recruitment and interim management firms. He led former market-leader BIE Interim Executive from 2008 until launching Holdsway in 2013.
Nick spends his leisure time as a Harlequins RFC season ticket holder, with his two teenage children supporting their sports teams, clubs, activities and collecting them from parties. He also enjoys road-cycling and running and, in 2013 and 2015, together with his brothers cycled the Prudential London-Surrey 100 for Diabetes UK. In September 2016 a Holdsway team successfully completed the London Duathlon in Richmond Park also for Diabetes UK.
